I promise I will get a fresh new pic this year 🤭

My name is Chantal Gilmour, in my home town of Cornwall Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 I am also know as the Crazy Knitter. I spend my days knitting all kinds of things for others. 

I started knitting 25 years ago to keep busy during maternity leave, but after an accident that left me bed ridden for a time, I picked up knitting again as a mean to stay sane. When the accident prevented me from going back to my previous field of work I went back to school to learn some essential skills through Tri-County Literacy Council I then decided to use the self taught knowledge of knitting to make it into a career to improve my self esteem and bring financial security to my family.

My favourite items to knit are dishcloths(easy to carry around) slippers like grandma use to make and the famous Doctor Who scarf based on the Fourth Doctor.

When my wrists and shoulders need a break from knitting you will find me drinking coffee and reading everything I can put my hands on. From romance to philosophy I am never far from a book to read or listen to.

When I am not reading or knitting, I am sitting on the board for the United Way Centraide SD&G or on the Cornwall Heritage-Patrimoine committee to insure a brighter future for Cornwall's residents by supporting the future and the past. I am also a new member of the local Toastmasters Club to learn public speaking skills because honestly I am awful at speaking to a crowd unless I am online. 😊
